Huovutettu Piparkakkutalo. A Felted Gingerbread House.

Huovutettu Piparkakkutalo syntyi tänä viikonloppuna. 

Se on noin 16,5cm leveä ja korkeimmasta paikasta noin 15,5cm korkea. 

Talossa asuu ihan pieni tonttu...

Alkuidean huopatalooni sain Simonalta Soft and Malleable blogista

A Felted Gingerbread House was born this weekend. 

It is about 17cm wide and about 16cm from the highest point. 

A tiny little elf moved  immediately in the house...

 I got the idea for my felted house from Simona from the blog: Soft and Malleable.

Ostoksia ja Arvonta! Some shopping and a Giveaway!

Oulussa oli viikonloppuna Kädentaitomessut. Kävin siellä tyttäreni kanssa ja ilokseni löysin sieltä Gepetton myyntipisteen. Rakenteilla olevaan sammakkojen taloon ostin kivan lipaston ja ihastuttavan pinnasängyn! Siinä messujen tungoksessa olin ostanut vahingossa sängyt kokoa 1/18. Kirjoitin sähköpostia Anulle Gepettoon ja kysyin mahdollisuutta vaihtaa sänkypaketit kokoon 1/12. Anu vastasi anteliaasti, että voin pitää  1/18 sänky-pakkaukset ja että hän lähettää minulle 1/12 sängyt, Paketti tuli jo tänään! 
Halusin heti kasata molemmat, lipaston ja pinnasängyn!
Mahdollisesti maalaan vielä nämä. 
(Osa ostoksistani menee jouluksi, joten S h h h . . ! )
Anu sanoi myös, että voinen antaa 1/18 sängyn eteenpäin, joten lue juttu loppuun saakka!

A big Art and Craft Fair was in Oulu last weekend. 

I went there with my daughter and

was happy to find Gepetto's products. I bought a nice chest of drawers and  a beautiful cot to be situated in the frog's house ! 

It was very crowdy and sweaty at the Fair, so I bought the cots in size 1/18 although I was intending to buy the size 1/12.

I wrote an e-mail to Anu/Gepetto and asked about the possibility to  change the cot into the size 1/12.  Anu replied kindly and generously that I can keep the 1/18 size and that she would send me size 1/12! Her package came today!

I wanted to see right away how they both look like.

Possibly I will paint these later.

(Some of my Gepetto purchases will go for Christmas presents, so S h h h . .!)

 Anu also said that maybe I could put the 1/18 kit foreward, so please read the following.!

Joulukaktukseni on tehnyt nyt etuajassa, n. 35 nuppua, mitkä aukeavat piakkoin. Tuosta sain inspiraation tehdä minijoulukaktuksia.

My Christmas cactus is about to bloom, very early this year. I counted about 35 buds, which will open pretty soon. This gave me the inspiration to make  a few of them in mini size.

Meillä oli pari päivää lomaa ja lähdimme pohjoiseen. Kävelimme syksyisessä värikkäässä luonnossa ja ihastelimme hiljaisuutta ja luonnon omia ääniä. 

Tänä aamuna luonto maalasi kaikki värit uusiksi. Satoi lunta!

We had a couple of days leave and headed north. We walked in the wild, enjoying the autumn's colorful nature and it's peaceful sounds. 

This morning the nature painted all the colors again. It was snowing!

Tilasin tarvikkeita syksyn askarteluja varten. 

Tarkoituksemme on tehdä kerhossa Bunka-mattoja. 

Minun piti heti kokeilla, ennen kerhoiltaa, miten niitä tehdään . . .

I ordered supplies for the autumn crafts in the MiniClub. 

Our aim is to make Bunka-rugs. 

I had to try, before the club evening, how to make . . .

Portaat? Stairs?

Sammakoiden taloa suunnitellessa juuduin  portaikko kysymykseen.

Täytyyhän talossa olla portaat! Erilaisten visioiden kautta päädyin tällaiseen kierreporras ideaan. 

Toinen mielenkiintoinen idea on Hissi! Miten tehdä toimiva hissi? 

When designing the whole idea of the Frogs house I got stuck into the question of the staircase. There is need for the stairs! With many different visions in my mind I ended up with this spiral staircase idea.

Another interesting idea is the elevator! How to make a working elevator?

Viime tiistaina meillä oli tämän syyskauden ensimmäinen Nukkekotikerhon kokoontuminen. Suunnittelimme alkavan kauden ohjelman ja teimme keskeneräisiä töitä valmiiksi. Mahtaakohan sinulla olla yhtään viimeistelemätöntä työtä odottamassa? ;) Minulla on useita! Nyt viimeistelin ylimmässä kuvassa näkyvät saniaiset. Saniais-kitit olin ostanut jo syksyllä 2013 täältä. Ruukut ovat pieniä saviruukkuja, mitkä olin joskus maalannut ja lakannut.

Alimmalla kukalla ei ole nimeä ;) Sen istutin mustaan muoviseen munakuppiin.

Kyllä on kivaa, kun taas kokoonnumme mineilemään!

Last Tuesday, we had the first  Mini Club gathering for this autumn period. We planned the program and we also complited some of our unfinished works. I wonder if you have any unfinished works?

I wanted to finish the ferns, you can see in the first photo.Those kits were bought already in the autumn 2013 from  here. The pots are small clay pots, which I had painted and varnished earlier. The second photo shows the flower with no name ;) It is planted in a black plastic egg cup.

It is so fun to gather up again to make some minis!

Tästä se alkaa! And so it begins!

Ihana lämmin kesä on jarrutellut uuden talon tekoa, mutta tästä se lähtee! Sammakkoperhe Wirkkula odottaa jo innolla uutta kotiaan.

Talon lähtökohtana on kolme Alkosta saatua puista viinilaatikkoa. 

Yhden laatikon koko sisämitoiltaan on noin: 

Korkeus: 25cm, Leveys 30cm ja syvyys 17cm. Ideani tarvitsevat vähän lisää tilaa joka kerrokseen. :) Sitä täytyy tuumia ja suunnitella!

Laatikoissa on liukukannet, minkä avulla talon voi sitten tarvittaessa sulkea.

Lovely warm summer has made me slow in starting to make the new dollhouse, but here it goes! 

The Frog family, the Wirkkula's, are already looking forward to their new home. The house is based on three wooden wine boxes from Alko.

 The size of one box, with inside dimensions, is approximately: 

Height: 25cm, width 30cm and depth of 17cm. 

My ideas will need a little more space on each floor. :)  So, more thinking and planning!

The drawers have sliding lids, so if needed I can close the house.
